Earning A Better Grade: Update on USDA’s Remote Beef Grading Program for Smaller Processors
Date(s): Feb 5, 2026
Location: Webinar
In the two years since USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service launched the Remote Beef Grading (RBG) Program, smaller processors across the nation have embraced this new service as a valuable tool to add value to the products they market and to help suppliers improve the quality of animals delivered to their plants.
Along the way, AMS has made some adjustments to the program to make it even more accessible and usable for participating processors.
Join Flower Hill Institute Regional Directors Dave Carter and Chris Roper at Noon MT, Thursday, February 5th, as they welcome two RBG experts for a one-hour online roundtable to discuss the program and its value for smaller processors.
Joining Chris and Dave will be Jodie Pitcock, Marketing Specialist for the AMS Livestock and Poultry Program; and Dr. Brad Morgan, Vice President of Research & Development for Suspended Fresh Foods. They will review the logistics of enrolling in the RBG program, the costs involved, and the potential market opportunities it provides. As always, there will be plenty of opportunities for Pitcock and Dr. Morgan to answer questions from people attending the online roundtable.
