AMSA Launches The Meat Locker: A Comprehensive Resource for Anyone Associated with Meat!
The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) is excited to announce the launch of The Meat Locker, a new website created as part of a grant received through the Meat Processing Plant Technical Assistance (MPPTA) program. This initiative was born out of a recognized need for a comprehensive, one-stop-shop for technical resources related to meat.
The Meat Locker aims to be the go-to site for meat processors of all sizes, offering accurate, reliable, and up-to-date information. Unlike other sources where content may vary in accuracy, The Meat Locker benefits from AMSA’s unique membership base, which includes meat scientists from various fields such as academia, extension personnel, equipment and ingredient suppliers, other associations, and other meat processors themselves. This allows us to source high-quality information from a wide range of experts.
We plan to utilize information from our “network” of MPPTA providers and fill in any gaps with additional resources. The vision is for this site to serve as a valuable tool for meat processors, ensuring they have access to the best technical information available.
The development of The Meat Locker is ongoing, and we are continuously adding new content. The information we plan to provide is almost limitless, and we are working on incorporating diverse types of content, such as video clips, animations, and possibly even podcasts or interviews. We also plan to include more imagery that may be helpful for creating marketing materials for digital campaigns or printed use in businesses.
We encourage you to visit The Meat Locker weekly as we continue to expand and enhance the site. This is a collaborative effort, and we welcome feedback and suggestions to ensure it meets the needs of the industry.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to making The Meat Locker an invaluable resource for the meat processing community.
Visit The Meat Locker today and stay tuned for more updates!
Best regards,
Christi
